40Days of Prayer - Day 4: Spiritual Wisdom and Understanding

"...We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding."

Colossians 1:9b (NLT)

Let's Pray:

Lord, we thank you that you love us and want the best for our marriage. I pray this morning that you would give (_____) complete knowledge of your will and give him spiritual wisdom and understanding. I pray he will know in his heart that you love him and can help him with all the challenges he faces today. I also pray that you will give me spiritual wisdom and understanding to know exactly how to love him and be his helpmate. Help me to put my love into action today so he will feel my love. In Jesus' name, AMEN.


Ladies, know that whether your relationship is on the rocks or rock solid, God wants to be intimately involved. He wants to see your love for your husband grow and mature even more than you do. That's why sometimes we are faced with an unlovely situation so we can learn to do what is "loving" instead of what is "easy". Unfortunately for me, I'm a slow learner.
Sometimes I like to do the "two step" when it comes to loving like Jesus. I take two steps forward and one step back. : )

40Days of Prayer - Day 3: Solution to Overcoming Evil

"Don't let evil get the best of you, but conquer evil by doing good."

Romans 12:21 (NLT)

Prayer:

Lord, I pray that (_____) will not let evil get the best of him today! Show him how he can conquer evil by doing good. Help him to see how your way is the best way. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

Wives, know that sometimes when God is working in us, things can appear to get worse. This has happened to me both times I began this 40 days of prayer for my husband. My prayer partner and good friend, Jancey, could tell you this is true. When we did this for the first time together, a few days into our praying, my marriage seemed to fall apart at the seams if you know what I mean.

I couldn't believe it. Here I was praying earnestly everyday and my marriage was literally falling apart. I remember Jancey saying to me,
"I see this as a good thing. I think God is bringing to the surface all the bad so that you can deal with it and move forward."

I wasn't as convinced, but we continued to pray for the remainder of the 40 days and she turned out to be right.

So if things seem to go south as you begin to pray during the next 40 days, don't give up! It means God is working on you both and the bad stuff needs to be sifted and brought to the surface and removed. Just keep praying!

Remember: Memorize the scriptures and also get a prayer partner, they can sometimes see what we can't see by ourselves!

40Days of Prayer - Day 2: "Turn Us From Worthless Things"

Scripture for Today:

"Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word."

Psalms 119:37 (NLT)

Wives: Pray this prayer for your husband - (say your husband's name)

Lord, I thank you for listening to my prayers and I thank you for answering me when I ask for your help. I pray this morning that you will turn (____)'s eyes from worthless things, and give him life through your word! I love him and pray this for him today. I also pray you will turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word. Thank you Lord, AMEN.

Wives, I encourage you to not only pray Psalms 119:37 but memorize it. Start by saying it over and over today. I write the verses that I want to memorize on an index card and then I can take it with me wherever I go. Whenever you are tempted to doubt God is working or you are tempted to try to "fix" your husband or manipulate things; say this verse for yourself and for your husband.

40 Days of Prayer - DAY 1: Change Us, Lord

What is 40 Days of Prayer??? You're asking...

It is a special time you set aside each day for period of 40 days where you pick scripture verses specifically chosen for a special person and turn them into prayers to God.

Scripture for Today:

"Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and

wonders through the name of your holy servant, Jesus."

Acts 4:30 (NIV)

Lord, my prayer for today is that you will do something amazing inside of every wife that joins us throughout the next 40 days. You have done so many miracles in my life and I know through this blog you want to help other wives see their marriages transformed, too. I thank you in advance for the marriages saved and relationships renewed as a result of our prayers for our husbands over the next 40 days.

OK, Wives, join me in our first prayer together:

I pray, Lord that you will stretch out your hand in my marriage to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your Holy servant, Jesus! AMEN!

Wives, if you know of a wife who could use some encouragement in her marriage; forward this prayer to her!! I have gone through 40 days of praying twice now and I am in awe of how God has encouraged me through the most difficult of circumstances!! I promise you, He loves you and wants to show you He is with you, today! He's waiting for you to ask for His help.
