Day 36 of 40 Days of Prayer: "Prayer For His Desires"

"Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart."

Psalm 37:4 (NIV)

Let's Pray:

Lord, I pray that (_____) will delight himself in you and you will give him the desires of his heart. I ask you to reveal your purpose for his life to him. Show him that there is a unique purpose that only he can fulfill during his lifetime. I pray you'll give him the courage to step out in faith to do what you're placing on his heart. Lord, help me to speak encouragement to him everyday. I pray that I would not cause him to stumble by anything that I do. I thank you Lord! In Jesus' name, AMEN.

So many people are afraid to open their hearts to God out of fear that He will make them do something so boring and dull, they will end up being miserable the rest of their lives.

I have three daughters. One of my daughters is extremely talented in graphic design stuff. She instinctively knows how to put together print media and web pages to make them look really appealing. I don't know how she does it. But I have seen some of her work and I am so impressed. Every time I get the chance, I brag about her amazing talent. I brag that she will probably get a great advertising job someday. I get so much joy out of seeing her use her talents and its obvious she enjoys it, too.

God loves my daughter even more than me so why would he ever make her do something that's dull and boring the rest of her life? Answer? He wouldn't. God gives us special talents, abilities and interests so we can use them to serve him!!!

We should remember to not only pray that God would give our husbands the desires of their hearts but that they would get the courage to pursue those desires. You will have a much happier husband on your hands!!! : )
