"Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God. For it is written, "I will take vengeance; I will repay those who deserve it," says the Lord. Instead, do what the Scriptures say: 'If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink, and they will be ashamed of what they have done to you." and you will heap burning coals on their heads. Prov 25:21-22.'"
Romans 12: 19,20 (NLT)
Let's Pray:
Dear Lord, thank you for reminding us that we should never take revenge. Thank you that you will take care of that. Lord, I pray that you will help (_____) to let go of any hurt he's been holding onto so that he will be able to be kind to anyone who he once held resentments against. Lord, if he is holding any resentments towards me for a hurt that I have caused, I pray you will help him to communicate it and help us both to forgive and move past it. I pray that you would keep us from re-injuring each other due to unresolved resentment or unspoken hurts. I thank you in advance for healing our relationship! In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Wives,
I don't know about you but I can say that personally, my marriage has suffered at the hands of resentment. I can also tell you that you must stop this poison or your relationship will die. If you sense resentment in your husband; address it. If you feel resentful; address it! Do not let it ruin your relationship. Yes, its uncomfortable to address sore issues, but the alternative is equally painful.
God already knows how you feel. And, He knows He's the only one that can give you the power to work through it whether you need to seek forgiveness or offer forgiveness.
